March 31, 2015. The minister of agriculture of Armenia got acquainted with rehabilitation works of the “Arpa-Sevan” tunnel.
The minister of agriculture of Armenia Sergo Karapetyan visited “Arpa-Sevan” tunnel, where he got acquainted with ongoing rehabilitation process of the tunnel.
The construction works are carried out in shifts schedule on base of 24 hours, 7 months per year (from September 1 to April 1), afterwards, during the spring flood season, (from April 1 to September 1) all the works are stopped, and, according to the existing rule, the water flows to the lake Sevan.
All the works implemented by “Arpa-Sevan” OJSC were assessed positively. At the same time the minister noted that there is a need of new programs to ensure the future operation of the tunnel, in order to insure the full capacity operation of the tunnel.
During 2010-2014 545.5 million m³ of water was transported through “Arpa-Sevan” tunnel to the lake Sevan.
