2014 Reconstruction of Arzni HPP Derivation Aqueducts

“Hrazdan”, “Argel” and “Arzni” HPPs are part of Sevan-Hrazdan cascade of HPPs of the energy system of the Republic of Armenia. The projects aim was restoration of damaged sections of the aqueducts of derivation channels of HPPs. The design was implemented by “Armhydroproject Institute” CJSC
At restorated sections the 15 cm thick reinforced concrete was layed, as well as construction and insulation joints were restored.
All activities were carried out mainly in the winter time after the irrigation period. Concrete works at winter conditions were carried out using appropriate technological standards and requirements.
The following scope of works was performed

| 2. Cleaning the canals of sediments and vegetation | 404,4 m3 |
| 3. Removal of deteriorated concrete | 643,6 m3 |
| 4. Cleaning the bottom and sides of the canal through sandblasting | 10112,2 m2 |
| 5. Concreting the canal with В20 W6 F150 concrete | 1774,1 m3 |
| 6. Reinforcement | 52,1 t |
| 7. Construction joints | 2053,8 m |
| 8. Transportation of rubbish | 2698,3 t |
| 9. Shotcreting | 341,9 m2 |
