2004-2021 The Commitment to Trust Management of Vorotan-Arpa-Sevan Water-engineering System
The main objective of the trust management of Vorotan-Arpa-Sevan Water-engineering System is to provide the transfer of maximum possible volume of water to the Lake Sevan aiming at increasing the water resources of Lake Sevan.
This objective is achieved by safe and trouble-free operation of 70 km long Vorotan-Arpa-Sevan tunnel conduit that would be ensured by operation and maintenance of:
1. 40 m deep intake shaft headworks;
2. 5 shafts of 90 m to 662 m depth;
3. Kechut reservoir with its hydraulic engineering facilities:
4. 47.3 m high earth-and-rock-fill dam and 234 m long water intake
5. 30 m deep tunnel of the gatewell
6. 40 m deep emergency shaft spillway with 270 m3/sec hydraulic performance
7. 4 water gauging stations, wasteway chutes
8. The intake and the system of offtake hydraulic structures on the Yeghegis River;
9. 0.7 km long water supply canal to Lake Sevan from the outlet portal of Arpa-Sevan tunnel.
